Peer Review Process

The Journal of Literary Theory and Interpretation (JLTI) uses a stringent double-blind peer-review procedure to ensure the originality, quality, and academic worth of all articles published in its journal.

The identities of both the author and the reviewer remain unknown throughout the peer-review process.

Editorial Screening

All manuscripts are evaluated by the editorial team initially prior to external evaluation. Areas assessed include:

  • Relevance to the journal.
  • Originality and contribution to knowledge.
  • Adherence to submission guidelines.
  • Overall quality.
  • Ethics and integrity.

Successful completion of this step qualifies the manuscript for external evaluation.

Double-Blind Review

All eligible submissions are considered for review by experienced scholars possessing the necessary subject knowledge. The reviewers consider the manuscript on the following criteria:

  • Originality of the Manuscript.
  • Importance of the contribution.
  • Theoretical underpinning.
  • Analysis and interpretation.
  • Organization and presentation.
  • Accurate references and citations.
  • Relevance to literary studies and humanities research.

The reviewers offer suggestions aimed at enhancing the quality of the manuscript as well as helping editors make an informed decision about the publication of the manuscript.

Editorial Decision

Upon receipt of reviewers’ reports, the editorial board assesses all suggestions before concluding. The editorial decisions may be:

  • Accept: The paper is accepted for publication.
  • Accept With Minor Revision: There is a need for minor revisions before publication.
  • Major Revision Needed: There is a need for major revisions before any further evaluation.
  • Reject: The paper does not meet the journal’s standards for publication.

In case authors are asked to revise their papers, they should submit the revised copy along with the response to the reviewers’ comments.

Fair and Transparent Review

It is a commitment from JLTI that their review procedure should remain unbiased, efficient, and clear. The journal aims to:

  • Ensure unbiased editorial decisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality among the reviewers and authors.
  • Offer constructive feedback on an academic level.
  • Help authors develop their manuscript.
  • Meet the standards of scholarly publishing internationally.

With its stringent peer review system, JLTI wishes to publish those articles that add value to literary theory and interpretation.
